This item is a stepping stone for any pearl lover. The classic Japanese Akoya pearl necklace in a 8.0-8.5mm size (diameter of each pearl). The pearls originate from the Japanese pearl farms of Ise and are very lustrous (AAA quality). The luster indicates a very thick coating (nacre) which also results in multiple color overtones (white-silver-pink) deep within the pearl. The pearls are round and are knotted the traditional Japanese method. Each pearl is individually knotted using the most durable thread. The clasp is silver, plated with 24K yellow gold with a secure lock and release mechanism made in Japan. The clasp can be upgraded to yellow or white gold, by request at an additional cost. The necklace’s standard length is 16.5 inch and can be modified to be shorter or longer upon customers request. The Japanese Akoya pearls were the first to have been cultured and are regarded as the classic look of cultured saltwater pearls since the early 20th century. The culturing of these pearls require a lot of care by the farmers due to the Akoya oysters being relatively sensitive. This care results in top quality pearls.
